The Project

Built on a Fairfax-derived plan, this Evergreen home was adapted for a heavily treed five-acre parcel with a defensible-space requirement. The exterior package of stone, metal roofing, and tempered glass was selected with wildfire mitigation in mind from the first sketch.

The timber frame was cut in our shop over the winter and raised in eleven days. The detached shop followed the same frame system and houses the owner's wood-working equipment.

Scope of Work

  • Adapted Fairfax plan, design-build
  • Douglas fir timber frame, shop-cut and site-raised
  • Wildfire-resilient exterior assembly
  • Detached two-bay timber shop
  • Well, septic, and fire-suppression coordination
